Olympian Gagan Ajit Singh shares ‘Hockey Tips’ at Ferozepur AstroTurf Stadium
Former Olympian and SSP Malerkotla Visits Hometown Ferozepur, Guides Young Hockey Players

Ferozepur, November 15, 2024: In celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakashotsav, the Hockey Ferozepur Association organized a friendly hockey match at the AstroTurf Stadium. Olympian and SSP of Malerkotla, Gagan Ajit Singh, graced the event as the chief guest. The association secretary, Manmeet Singh Rubal, welcomed him with a floral tribute, while players applauded the hockey legend's presence.
PRO Vikramaditya Sharma highlighted the association’s efforts under the leadership of President Dr. Aniruddh Gupta, including the "Mission Hockey" initiative to encourage young players through such events.
After the friendly match, Gagan Ajit Singh shared valuable hockey tips, emphasizing focus, safety, and discipline in the game. Reflecting on his roots, he stated, "I played on this very ground to reach where I am today." He underscored the importance of balancing academics and sports, encouraging players to enhance their skills and bring pride to their families and district on international platforms.
Singh expressed delight over the AstroTurf facility in his birthplace, Ferozepur, and assured that players would face no hurdles in their growth. He also presented kits to the players as a gesture of encouragement.
Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh thanked the chief guest, mentioning the association’s and Baba Sher Shah Wali Hockey Academy's consistent efforts to organize tournaments and boost players' morale. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony for the chief guest.
