Haryana declares paid holidays on UP & Punjab Polling Day

Chandigarh, February 4, 2022: With a view to provide an opportunity to those who are working in Haryana/Chandigarh and enrolled as a voter in the electoral list of Punjab to exercise their franchise, the Haryana Government has fixed Sunday, February 20, 2022, to be a Close Day (Paid Holiday) for all shops and commercial establishments falling within the jurisdiction of Haryana only for employees who are enrolled as voters in Punjab.
Similarly, Haryana Government has fixed Thursday, February 10, 2022, Monday, February 14, 2022, Sunday, February 20, 2022, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Sunday, February 27, 2022, Thursday, March 3, 2022, and Monday, March 7, 2022, to be a Close Day (Paid Holiday) for all shops and commercial establishments falling within the jurisdiction Haryana only for employees who are enrolled as voters in Uttar Pradesh.
An official spokesperson informed that a notification in this regard has been issued by the Haryana Labour Department.
