For the first time in the country, patient facilitation centers to be set up in government hospitals: Health Minister
Feedback will be taken from patients undergoing treatment

Dhuri/Sangrur, June 27, 2023: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that soon all the district and sub-division level hospitals and community hospitals of the state will be renovated, which would greatly help in improving the overall condition of the secondary health sector on a revolutionary level.
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh had arrived here today to visit Sub Divisional Hospital Dhuri and Civil Hospital Sangrur. He was also accompanied by Punjab Health Systems Corporation MD Pardeep Agarwal.
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government has earlier brought revolutionary reforms in the primary health sector by opening 580 Aam Aadmi clinics.
He said that model buildings have been developed for these Aam Aadmi clinics besides deputing required strength of doctors and other para-medical staff.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government was fully committed to provide the best services in the field of health in the state.
He said that the main purpose of today's visit was to get information about the required facilities in the hospitals to upgrade the secondary health institutions and for this the team of experts including the President of IMA was preparing an outline to upgrade these health institutions.
He said that during the renovation of the health institutions, Patient Facilitation Centers will also be set up to help the patients, where special staff will be posted to provide the required services to the patient after registration.
He said that the staff present in these centers, which will be built for the first time in the country, will be obliged to make the patient's prescription from the doctor, get the tests done and provide medicines so that the people can be saved from unnecessary trouble.
He said that apart from this, important steps were being taken in the direction of getting treatment-related feedback from the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The Health Minister said that 550 new doctors were being recruited and along with this continuous efforts were being made to provide good working environment and better salaries to the doctors.
He said that with the recruitment of new doctors, it will be ensured that the emergency in the government hospitals will be operational 24x7.
He said that new buildings were constructed in some places by the previous governments but required staff were not recruited, but now the Mann government was ensuring the postings of doctors as well as required para-medical staff.
He said that along with the staff, the availability of required medical equipments and machines will also be ensured.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, Chairman Improvement Trust Pritam Singh Peetu, SDM Sangrur Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder Kaur, Colonel J.V. Singh, Balwinder Saini, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Vikas Dhir, SMO Dr. Kirpal Singh, XEN PWD KS Sandhu, XEN Mandi Board were also present.
