Chandigarh, July 10, 2024: The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) investigating the death of farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who was killed on the Khanuri border during the farmers' movement, has filed its report in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The report states that the bullet that hit the farmer Shubkaran Singh was not fired by the police and security forces.
Disclosure in the report
According to the report of FSL, the death of farmer Shubkaran Singh was due to a shot fired from a shotgun. According to the report, the gun from which the shot was fired is not with the police and security forces deployed on the border. The High Court has ordered to investigate who fired this shot.
High Court order
The High Court asked the lawyer of the farmer's organization that now see who in the crowd had a shotgun, due to which the farmer died. The High Court said that the video footage of that day's demonstration should be seen and identify who fired the shot.
Farmer's leader's statement
After the report filed in the High Court, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal issued a statement. He said that if farmers had guns, why would they kill their brothers?
He said that we have no hope of justice from the investigation conducted by the Haryana Police, so it should be investigated by a retired judge of the High Court.
Shubkaran Singh died due to bullet injury
On February 21, at the Khanuri border of Punjab and Haryana, Shubkaran Singh, a farmer, and his companions began to march towards Delhi, but were stopped by the Haryana government and fired indiscriminately with tear gas shells.
Shots were also fired. Seeing the action of the government, the farmers had stopped, but still, the action was not stopped by the police officers.
Farmer Shubkaran Singh was just five steps away from the Haryana border when the bullet hit him behind the head. After which he was badly injured. He was taken to the hospital. About an hour later, the doctor declared him dead.
