Senior Journalist Kamaljit Banwait appointed member of expert panel of Advisory Board of National Commission for Minorities

Chandigarh, September 17, 2024: Senior journalist and writer Kamaljit Singh Banwait has been appointed as a member of the expert panel of Advisory Board of the National Commission for Minorities of the Government of India. He has been appointed by the Ministry of Minorities, Government of India.
Banwait, as a representative of the Sikh community, has been entrusted by the Government of India with the responsibility of advising the National Commission on Minorities as an expert for Punjab.
In 2011, Kamaljit Singh Banwait was honored with the Shiromani Correspondent Award by the Punjab Government. He is the author of 12 books of prose.
Banwait was born in village Udapar in district Nawanshahr and started his career in journalism as a daily Akali journalist and later worked as a senior journalist in Punjabi Tribune for more than two and a half decades.
