Chandigarh, September 18, 2024: Sukhdev Singh Sandhu, convener of the Sada Punjab Sanjha Punjab Party, has called upon all political parties to unite in condemning the recent arrest of prominent political analyst and Sikh leader Malwinder Singh Mali.
Sandhu stated that the Punjab government, under the influence of political alliances, is silencing voices of dissent by unlawfully arresting those who speak against its failures.
“Mali has always fearlessly exposed the oppression of the Punjabi people with concrete evidence, and his arrest highlights the government’s ongoing attempts to crush free speech,” said Sandhu.
He urged political parties across Punjab to raise their voices against this gross violation of human rights and the Punjab government’s authoritarian tactics.
Sandhu stressed the need for collective action to ensure justice for Mali and prevent further abuses by the government and police authorities.
