"Mechanical sweeping will continue on city roads": Global Waste Management assures MC Mohali

SAS Nagar, September 20, 2024: The Mechanical Sweeping will not be stopped on city roads as some apprehensions have been made by a section of media, said MC Commissioner, T Benith, here, today.
He said that Global Waste Management Pvt Limited who is running these mechanical machines has denied any such rumours on contacting.
The Commissioner said that the GMADA officials have already committed to contribute Rs 10 crore against the payment of these mechanical machines so there is no way to stop the working of these machines.
Commissioner further said that as per the commitment the MC Mohali has to bear the cost of operating and maintenance while GMADA has to pay for the procurement.He denied any such move of stopping of work by the company for delay in payment.
