Punjab Govt to ensure foolproof arrangements for Shobha Yatra to mark the Parkash Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji: Jalandhar DC

Jalandhar, September 27, 2024: Chairman Punjab Safai Karamchari Commission Chandan Grewal and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today said that the Punjab Government would ensure foolproof arrangements for the upcoming events to mark the Parkash Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki ji Maharaj on October 6. 11, 16, and 17 respectively.
Presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements, they said that series of events will be held including Hawan Yagya on October 6, followed by Tirath Yatra on October 11, Sobha Yatra on October 16, and Deep Mala on October 17. Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration was duty-bound for making elaborate arrangements so that people could participate in the Shobha Yatra with full religious gaiety and enthusiasm. He said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned for making this event a huge success. Dr. Aggarwal asked the people to participate in the Shobha Yatra with full religious fervor.
The DC said that requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, beautification of chowks, security arrangements and other facilities during the Shobha Yatra, so that pilgrims do not face any sort of problem. He asked every concerned officer to make sure that their staff performs the duty diligently for smooth conduct of affairs during this famous Shobha Yatra. He said that every officer / official must ensure that people participating in this Shobha do not face any sort of problem stating that any kind of dereliction in this duty will be highly unwarranted.
Dr. Aggarw directed the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to ensure proper cleanliness of the route of the Shobha Yatra, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets for the pilgrims participating in this mega event. Likewise, he asked the Health department to depute Medical teams during the Shobha Yatra along with medicines and Ambulances to facilitate the people. He also asked the PSPCL to evolve a mechanism for supplying uninterrupted power during the Shobha Yatra besides removing dangling wires on the route.
He also asked the Police Department to make necessary arrangements for maintaining law and order during the yatra, especially the smooth traffic flow through proper diversion. He stressed the traffic diversion plan to be prepared and highlighted in advance so that all the people were aware of it. Similarly, sufficient deployment of Police force to ensure proper safety and security of pilgrims.
The DC also stated that the meeting was held well before the events so that all the events are held in an unsurpassable manner.
On the occasion, Commissioner Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Gautam Jain, Joint Commissioner Police Sandeep Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, Major Amit Mahajan, representatives of various Government Departments and religious organizations were present.
