Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu IAS held a meeting with officials of various departments to review the procurement arrangements for paddy. On this occasion, she said that all appropriate arrangements should be made in advance for smooth procurement of paddy. She said that farmers should not face any problem during the marketing of paddy.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Mandi Officer to make proper arrangements for cleanliness, shade, drinking water and lighting in the mandis. She also said that there should be proper arrangements of tarpaulins in the markets so that the crop can be protected from getting wet due to rain. She said that this time 57 procurement centers will be established in the district. Last year, government procurement agencies purchased 1 lakh 59 thousand metric tons of paddy. While according to the estimates of the Department of Agriculture, there is a slight increase in the arrival of paddy this time.
On this occasion, she said that this time the minimum support price of paddy is Rs 2320 per quintal. She instructed the Mandi Board and the Police Department to intercept the paddy coming from other Rajasthan as per the rules. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rakesh Kumar Popli, SP Ramnish Chowdhury, DSP Balkar Singh, District Food Supply Controller Himanshu Kukkar, District Mandi Officer Salod Bishnoi, Vikas Batra including officials of various procurement agencies were present in the meeting.
