Punjab Govt’s Ferishte Scheme proves to be a boon in saving precious lives - Raman Bahl
223 accident victims provided free medical treatment

Gurdaspur (Punjab), January 14, 2025 - The Ferishte Scheme launched by the Punjab Government to provide immediate and uninterrupted treatment to the victims of road accidents is proving to be a boon in saving precious lives. Since its inception, around 223 accident victims have been provided free medical treatment under this scheme which shows its effectiveness in reducing the death rate due to road accidents.
Giving information in this regard, Punjab Health Systems Corporation Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl said that to encourage the common people to come forward and help the victims of road accidents and save the lives of the victims, such ' Ferishte' are being honored by the Punjab government with a cash prize of Rs. 2000, a citation and are given relief from legal complications and police questioning. Mr. Raman Bahl said that till now, 66 ' Ferishte' have been registered with the State Health Agency (SHA) Punjab.
Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl has appealed to the people of the state to become ' Ferishte' by helping the victims of road accidents. He said that for helping the victims of road accidents, they will be honored by the state government with a cash prize and a citation and no questioning will be done by the police.
