Mayank Foundation-Police Traffic Cell join hands for road safety awareness in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 15, 2025: To foster a culture of safe driving and reduce road accidents, the Mayank Foundation, in partnership with the Police Traffic Cell, conducted a series of Road Safety Awareness seminars at various schools across Ferozepur. The sessions were held at HM Senior Secondary School, MLM Senior Secondary School, Govt High School, Satiye Wala, and GHS Jhoke Harihar.
The seminars aimed to educate students and the local community about key road safety practices, emphasizing the risks of over-speeding, the necessity of wearing helmets and seat belts, and the hazards of underage driving. Esteemed speakers at the event included Harish Monga, Patron of the Mayank Foundation; Lakhveer Singh, Traffic Lecturer from Ferozepur Police; and Deepak Sharma, Founder of Mayank Foundation.
The seminars covered essential points of discussion - Over-speeding: The risks involved and the importance of driving within speed limits, Helmet Use: The life-saving benefits of wearing a helmet, especially for two-wheeler riders, Seat Belts: The critical importance of using seat belts for both drivers and passengers, Minor Drivers: Addressing the growing concern of underage driving and its potential dangers.
Harish Monga, Patron of the Mayank Foundation, emphasized the value of life and the importance of adopting safe road practices. He urged participants to serve as role models for others and introduced the "Road Safety Mantra" – Drive in Queue, Drive Slow. Lakhveer Singh discussed the legal repercussions and risks of over-speeding and driving without appropriate safety measures. Deepak Sharma shared his personal story of loss in a road accident, which inspired the creation of the Mayank Foundation. He underscored the critical role of awareness in preventing accidents and fostering a safer road environment.
