Roadways conduct an Eye Check-Up Camp for bus drivers and conductors in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 25, 2025:As part of Road Safety Month January 2025, the Ferozepur Transport Department, under the guidance of ADC-cum-ARTA Dr Nidhi Kumud Bambah and the leadership of RTO Karnbir Singh Cheena, organised an eye check-up camp for Punjab Roadways’ drivers and conductors. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Health Department, Ferozepur.
The camp was inaugurated under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Deepashikha Sharma. During the camp, government ophthalmologist Dr. Sandeep Bajaj, his assistant Parminder Kumar, and the medical team conducted detailed eye examinations for the participants. Drivers and conductors experiencing any vision-related issues were provided with medicines on the spot and were advised to undergo regular eye check-ups. Tips to maintain ocular health were also shared.
Dr Bajaj emphasized the importance of good vision for bus drivers, stating, "Regular eye check-ups can not only ensure safety but also raise awareness about ocular health among drivers. Vision correction through glasses or contact lenses, along with educational initiatives and outreach camps, are vital to achieving this goal."
Present at the event were Punjab Roadways Ferozepur General Manager Amit Arora, Navdeep Singh from the Transport Department, Sanjeev Sharma, Mass Media Officer, Ankush Bhandari, Deputy Mass Media Officer, and Satnam Singh from the Child Protection Unit.
This initiative highlights the department's commitment to promoting road safety and ensuring that public transport drivers meet the necessary health and visual standards for safe operations.
