Ferozepur Bandh over Ambedkar statue desecration; demand for NSA on accused

Ferozepur, January 30, 2025: In the case of the desecration of the Babasaheb statue in Amritsar, a bandh call, for today, was given in Ferozepur by the Dalit organisations, for blocking the roads from 9 am to 5 pm, demanding strict action against the accused. It was a complete bandh of shops in the bazaars and even schools and colleges had already announced the closure of this account.
There is deep resentment in the Valmiki community and SC community and anger among Dalit organizations due to the vandalization of BR Ambedkar's statue. The leaders have demanded from the administration that the accused should be punished strictly.
A day after the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution, was damaged by a youngster on Heritage Street in Amritsar sparking widespread outrage, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday also condemned the incident and assured of strict action against the accused.
Earlier, in this regard, a special meeting of the Valmiki community's group organizations was held on Border Road under the leadership of Dera Baba Prakash Nath Valmiki Ashram Saint Baba Baldev Nath Adivasi and Officials of all the organizations participated in it. On this occasion, Shyam Lal Pradhan from Aadi Dharam Samaj Aadhas, Pipal Sahota from Indian Valmiki Dharma Samaj, Saint Baba Yashpal Nath, Mukesh Meghnath, Manak Goria, Baba Motu Gill, Nikku Pradhan, Ricky Adiwal from Dera Mata Bhilani were present.
Deep Dashanand, the national head of Ravan Sena Mission Ambedkar, said that NSA should be imposed on all those accused who have desecrated Baba Saheb Ambedkar's statue.
