Haryana gears up for procurement of oil-seeds and pulses for Rabi Marketing Season 2025-26

Chandigarh, February 4, 2025 – Haryana Chief Secretary Dr. Vivek Joshi today reviewed the preparations for the procurement of oilseeds and pulses for the Rabi Marketing Season 2025-26.
The procurement schedule includes the purchase of lentil from March 20, mustard from March 28, gram from April 1, summer moong from May 15, and sunflower from June 1.
Dr. Joshi directed officials to ensure adequate procurement arrangements, identify procurement centers, and make necessary provisions for storage and gunny bags to facilitate smooth operations. He emphasized the timely commencement of procurement to benefit farmers.
The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for various crops in the 2025-26 season has been fixed as follows: mustard at Rs. 5,950 per quintal, gram at Rs. 5,650 per quintal, sunflower at 7,280 per quintal, summer moong at Rs 8,682 per quintal, and lentil at Rs. 6,700 per quintal.
Officials informed the Chief Secretary that mustard has been cultivated on approximately 21.08 lakh acres in the state during the 2024-25 season.The cultivation area for gram, sunflower, and lentils stands at 0.61 lakh acres, 0.63 lakh acres, and 98 acres, respectively.
The estimated mustard production is 15.59 lakh metric tonnes at an average yield of 740 kg per acre. Similarly, gram are expected to yield 0.30 lakh metric tonnes at 494 kg per acre, while sunflower production is estimated at 0.50 lakh metric tonnes with an average yield of 800 kg per acre.
Moong cultivation covers about 1 lakh acres, with an estimated production of 0.48 lakh metric tonnes at 480 kg per acre.
