Jalandhar Rural Against Drugs: 29 arrested in 19 NDPS cases, including 2 proclaimed offenders

Jalandhar (Punjab), March 1, 2025: In a sustained crackdown on drug smuggling, Jalandhar Rural Police conducted a series of coordinated raids under Operation ‘Yudh Nashe De Virudh’, leading to multiple arrests and significant recoveries.
This operation is part of the Punjab Government and Punjab Police’s ongoing mission to dismantle drug networks and curb the illicit trade in Punjab.
Then divulging details to the media, Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Rural Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that the operation was executed across the district with the deployment of four SP-rank officers, twelve DSPs, and 525 police personnel.A total of 28 raids were conducted, during which 110 suspected smugglers were checked.
The operation resulted in the registration of 19 FIRs and the arrest of 29 individuals, including two proclaimed offenders.
Among those arrested was a 17-year-old Proclaimed Offender wanted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), against whom a reward of ₹50,000 had been announced.
The police seized 2,907 intoxicating tablets, 200 loose capsules, and 100 grams of heroin during the operation.
Additionally, ₹5 lakh in drug money was recovered. Law enforcement agencies also seized one Alto car and three motorcycles used in illicit activities.As part of the enforcement drive, 35 traffic challans were issued, and nine motorcycles were impounded.
SSP Khakh reaffirmed Jalandhar Rural Police’s commitment to intensifying action against drug traffickers and urged the public to support the police in their efforts to curb the menace. The operation, he said, would continue with full force in the coming days.
