Workshop on advanced ICT tools for effective teaching, learning organized by CGC Landran's IQAC

Mohali (Punjab), March 3, 2025: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of CGC Landran organized a hands-on workshop on ' Advanced ICT Tools for Effective Teaching & Learning,' bringing together around 180 faculty members to explore the integration of modern digital tools in education.
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and contemporary digital learning by equipping educators with AI-powered tools and innovative pedagogical strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
The Inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. PN Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Dr. Harsimran Kaur, Dean, IQAC, CGC Landran, among others.

The event featured experts in the field, including Mr. Tanvir Singh, Project Manager at IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials, who helmed a session on ' Tools for Effective Teaching & Learning .' His session provided hands-on training on AI and digital tools such as Canva, Mixo, Looka, ChatGPT, Gemini, Adobe Firefly, Merlin, Namelix, and Gamma AI, offering practical insights into their application in education.
Amit Kumar Mehta, Mentor of the Prerna Program under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, delivered an insightful session on ' Teaching-Learning Practices, 21st-Century Pedagogy, Skills from the World Economic Forum, and IPR & Creative Commons Licensing .'
His session placed an emphasis on modern teaching methodologies and the legal aspects of digital content creation, ensuring ethical and effective use of online resources. Faculty members actively engaged in hands-on exercises, learning to develop interactive e-content and leverage advanced ICT tools to enhance their teaching methods.
The workshop provided a technology-driven, collaborative and interactive learning environment for the participants.
It yielded significant outcomes, including enhanced digital competency among faculty members. They gained practical experience with AI tools, deepened their understanding of 21st-century teaching methodologies, and acquired knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Creative Commons licensing to ensure legal compliance in content creation.
By equipping educators with these advanced tools, the event contributed to innovative teaching practices that align with global education standards.
