Chandigarh, March 3, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a Pre-Budget Consultation meeting today, engaging Ministers, MLAs, and Administrative Secretaries to gather valuable inputs for the 2025-26 state budget.
The initiative aims to craft a people-centric budget that accelerates development and addresses key sectoral needs.
The two-day consultation, held at Red Bishop, Panchkula, is part of the Haryana Government’s ongoing practice of seeking broad-based participation in budget formulation.
The first session, attended by legislators from both ruling and opposition parties, saw deliberations on economic priorities and public welfare initiatives.
A Collaborative Approach to Budget Planning
For the past six years, Haryana has actively sought input from stakeholders across industries, agriculture, startups, women entrepreneurs, and self-help groups. This year, the government also invited citizen suggestions through an online portal, receiving nearly 10,000 responses.
CM Saini, who also holds the Finance portfolio, assured that the upcoming budget would incorporate key recommendations to simplify governance and drive holistic growth.
He emphasized that the first budget of the government’s third term under PM Narendra Modi would focus on sustained economic progress and welfare-driven policies.
Key Highlights of the Consultation:
- Extensive Sectoral Engagement: Pre-budget discussions were held in Gurugram, Hisar, and other regions with industry associations, agricultural stakeholders, and women-led enterprises.
- Focus on Long-Term Growth: The CM assured that the budget would not only address immediate concerns but also outline a roadmap for Haryana’s future development.
- Political Inclusivity: Opposition MLAs were also invited to contribute suggestions, reflecting the government’s commitment to a non-partisan, citizen-focused budget.
- Next Steps: On March 4, MLAs will continue to present their proposals in two dedicated sessions, ensuring comprehensive inputs before finalizing the budget.
