Illegal construction of drug smuggler demolished at village Amlala of Derabassi
Four cases registered against accused under IPS and NDPS Act in Punjab and Haryana

SAS Nagar (Punjab), April 28, 2025; Continuing its relentless action against drug smugglers under the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashiyan Virudh’, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Police with the help of district administration on Monday demolished illegall construction of anotorious drug smuggler in Amlala village of Derabassi.
The exemplary action was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar Deepak Pareek.
The demolished construction, illegally built on one bigha panchayat land, belonged to notorious drug smuggler identified as Salim Khan involved in four cases registered under the the IPC and NDPS Act at Punjab and Haryana.
The strong action by the district police sends a clear message that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has zero tolerance for drug trafficking.
He said that the recent case against this smuggler was registered on April 20 under the NDPS Act at Derabassi police station, under which 7 kg of Ganja was recovered.
DSP Derabassi Bikramjit Singh Brar and DSP Zirakpur Jaswinder Singh Gill, who were leading this operation, said that this operation is the part of the decisive war against drugs launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav to stop the drug menace from the state.
SSP Deepak Pareek warned the drug smugglers to stop their illegal activities or face similar action. He reiterated that the state government is committed to eradicating the drug menace and will not spare anyone involved in this illegal trade.
The action taken by the district police was appreciated by the villagers who praised the Punjab Government for their concerted efforts to curb drug trafficking.The villagers also thanked the district administration for taking action against the drug smugglers.
SSP Deepak Pareek appealed to the people to report any information about drug smugglers to the nearest police station.
