New Delhi, May 11, 2025 – Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai on Sunday revealed that India’s recent counter-terror strikes led to the elimination of over 100 terrorists, including key masterminds behind some of the country’s most horrific attacks.
Addressing the media, Lt Gen Ghai stated, “Those strikes across nine terror hubs left more than 100 terrorists killed, including high-value targets such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed—figures linked to the IC814 hijacking and the Pulwama blast.”
He said the meticulously coordinated operation involved all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces. The Indian Air Force played a pivotal role in neutralizing terror camps through precision strikes, while the Indian Navy contributed high-end munitions to support the offensive. “The Indian Air Force had their assets up in the sky, ensuring air dominance,” he noted.
Following the strikes, Pakistan responded by violating the Line of Control (LoC). However, Lt Gen Ghai highlighted that the retaliation from across the border was “erratic and rattled,” tragically resulting in civilian casualties and damage to inhabited villages and religious sites, including Gurudwaras.
Terming the collateral damage inflicted by Pakistan as “unfortunate and telling of their panic,” the DGMO emphasized that India’s actions were precise, targeted, and aimed solely at terror infrastructure.
Lt Gen Ghai’s remarks underscore India’s firm resolve to eliminate terror at its roots and hold those responsible for attacks on its soil accountable, regardless of where they operate from.
