New Delhi, May 11, 2025 – India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, confirmed that 35 to 40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in precision retaliatory strikes by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) between May 7 and May 10.
Lt Gen Ghai stated that the casualties were inflicted through artillery and small arms fire during heightened border tensions following Operation Sindoor — India’s counter-terror mission launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam massacre.
"Despite repeated air assaults on our forward positions and supply dumps, all enemy attempts were successfully thwarted. Our response was swift and decisive," he said.
The DGMO highlighted that Pakistan’s losses came as a result of calibrated retaliation by Indian troops, targeting hostile troop concentrations and launch pads across the border.
