Patna Sahib, May 21, 2025 – In a major religious development, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Giani Tek Singh have been declared "Tankhaiya" (guilty of religious misconduct) by the Five Pyare Sahiban of Takht Sri Patna Sahib for actions that allegedly hurt the sanctity and dignity of the Takht.
The decision was taken after a meeting of the religious leaders at the Takht Sahib, where serious concerns were raised over their conduct.
The assembly reviewed the workings of Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Giani Tek Singh, who have been associated with Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
During the meeting, the Pyare Sahiban addressed the unauthorized issuance of a Hukamnama by these individuals that contradicted previously established orders issued by Takht Patna Sahib (Ref: Tapas/5/H/2022 dated 11/09/2022, Tapas/10/H/2022 dated 25/11/2022, Tapas/14/H/2022 dated 09/12/2022).
The Five Pyare Sahiban found Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Giani Tek Singh guilty of violating the dignity, traditions, code of conduct, and sovereignty of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib. As a result, they have been officially declared "Tankhaiya" (religious offenders) under Sikh religious law.
Further, it has come to light that Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal allegedly interfered in the matter and acted as a conspirator. He has been ordered to appear in person before the Five Pyare Sahiban at Takht Patna Sahib within 10 days to present his side.
Failure to comply with this directive will lead to strict religious action in accordance with Sikh tradition.
Moreover, the Management Committee and all members of the Administrative Board of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib have been strictly instructed not to comply with the unauthorized edict issued by Giani Kuldeep Singh and Giani Tek Singh summoning the Board to Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The Pyare Sahiban have prohibited recognition of this directive and warned against any attempt to undermine the authority of Takht Patna Sahib.
