Sukhbir Badal pays last respects to Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, calls for panthic unity as true tribute

Ubhawal (Sangrur), June 8, 2025:Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today paid his last respects to senior Akali leader and former Union Minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa during the bhog and antim ardaas ceremony held at Dhindsa’s native village Ubhawal in Sangrur district.
The solemn gathering witnessed the presence of various political and religious leaders, alongside family members and admirers of the late statesman.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sukhbir Badal said, “I joined the last prayer of our respected leader, S. Sukhdev Singh Ji Dhindsa, and offered flowers of respect on behalf of the Shiromani Akali Dal. I also shared heartfelt condolences with his family. In my last meeting with Dhindsa Sahib, he spoke with deep concern about the need for Panthic unity. I am committed to implementing his vision.”
Calling upon the community to honor Dhindsa’s legacy through action, he added, “Let us all come together for the welfare of the Panth and Punjab. This will be the true tribute to Dhindsa Sahib’s lifelong dedication and service to Sikh values and public welfare.”
