Ferozepur, June 10, 2025: The decades-old dream of Ferozepur residents has finally been fulfilled by the Ministry of Railways. Now, there will be direct trains to the holy cities of Nanded and Haridwar from Ferozepur Cantonment station, bringing immense joy to the people. Although local BJP leader Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi was not physically present, he said, he had made every effort to make these trains a reality.
According to the new schedule, the train from Ferozepur to Haridwar will run twice a week, while the train to Nanded Sahib will depart every Friday. The train to Nanded Sahib will depart Ferozepur Cantonment station at 1:25 pm on Fridays and reach Nanded Sahib on Sunday at 3 am, covering a distance of 2,020 kilometres. Similarly, the train to Haridwar will start on June 18 and run twice a week, covering 450 kilometres.
There had also been a longstanding demand from residents for trains to run during school holidays, so that children studying outside the city could travel easily. Ferozepur’s historical and cultural heritage is closely linked with religious places like Nanded and Haridwar, and these new trains will help devotees and residents connect more conveniently.
The new trains will pass through important stations like Bathinda, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, and Ajmer, fulfilling the dream of thousands of residents of Ferozepur and surrounding areas. The entire journey promises to be convenient and comfortable for pilgrims and travellers.
