Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday launched the 'Easy Jamabandi' portal—a new step in the state’s ongoing revenue reforms aimed at delivering citizen-centric services in a transparent, efficient, and corruption-free manner.
Following the success of the 'Easy Registry' initiative introduced earlier in Mohali, the new digital platform will allow citizens to access key land record services without the need to visit Patwaris or revenue offices. The services provided under this initiative include:
Seamless Access to Land Records
Explaining the scope of the portal, both leaders said that over 40 lakh people in Punjab access Jamabandi (land ownership records) annually, often facing long queues, delays, and bribes. The new portal allows users to download a digitally signed Jamabandi with a QR code for verification directly from the website or via WhatsApp—completely free of charge. Digitization of land records is complete for 99% of villages, with the remaining to be covered within two months.
Online Mutation in 30 Days
On the mutation front, which sees around 8 lakh requests annually (6 lakh from deed registrations and 2 lakh from inheritance cases), the new system ensures automatic updates within 30 days. In inheritance cases, citizens can apply online with real-time updates via WhatsApp at each stage, eliminating middlemen and corruption.
Rapat Entry in Days, Not Months
The portal also streamlines Rapat Entries, required in cases of court orders or loans. Around 2 lakh such entries occur every year. Under the new system, court-related entries will be completed within one day, and loan-related entries within seven days—fully digitally, with no physical paperwork.
Swift Record Corrections with Fard Badar
For corrections in land records (around 60,000 annually), such as name spellings or clerical errors, citizens can now submit forms and documents online. The corrections will be processed within 15 days, with a nominal fee payable through the portal.
Land Subscription for NRIs and Owners
To safeguard property ownership—especially for NRIs—the government has introduced a “Subscribe to Your Land Records” feature. By paying ₹500 annually per Khewat, landowners can subscribe to their records and receive instant WhatsApp or email alerts if any changes or tampering attempts are made. Objections can be raised online and are sent directly to revenue officers for immediate review.
Services Available Statewide by July 15
Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal confirmed that these services will be extended across Punjab by July 15. Citizens can access them online at easyjamabandi.punjab.gov.in, by calling 1076, or visiting any Sewa Kendra.
They reiterated that the government is committed to building a corruption-free administration. “What earlier required repeated visits to Patwaris or Tehsildars can now be done with just a few clicks from home,” said the leaders. “This reform is a testament to our promise of clean and people-first governance.”
