Manali (Himachal Pradesh), June 15, 2025: A summer vacation turned into a nightmare for a family from Nagpur after a horrifying accident during an adventure activity in Manali.
A young girl, Trisha Bijve, fell 30 feet into a ditch when the cable of a zip line snapped near Nehru Kund. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 8, but has come to light after a video of the fall went viral online.
Trisha had traveled to Manali with her parents, Prafull and his wife, for a holiday. During a zip line ride, the return cable broke, causing her to plummet from a considerable height.
She was critically injured in the fall and was immediately rushed to Mission Hospital in Manali before being referred to a hospital in Chandigarh. She is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nagpur.
Manali Police Station in-charge Manish Sharma confirmed that the accident took place a week ago and that both parties involved had reached a private settlement.
The family chose not to pursue legal action and shifted their daughter to Chandigarh for further treatment.
The incident has sparked serious concerns about the safety protocols of adventure activities in tourist destinations like Manali. Despite growing popularity, regulatory oversight appears to be lacking.
The viral video has intensified public outcry, with many calling for stricter checks and enforcement of safety standards in such high-risk recreational activities.Authorities are yet to comment on whether any formal investigation will be launched into the zip line operator’s responsibility or potential negligence.
