Chandigarh, June 22, 2025: In a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of completely surrendering Punjab's administrative control to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The criticism comes after the Punjab Cabinet approved the appointment of Chief Secretary as Chairman of Punjab Regional Planning and Development Board.
“This is Bhagwant Mann’s meek and unabashed surrender to his Delhi boss. By handing over control of Punjab’s lands and development funds to a bureaucrat known to be a close aide of Kejriwal, the CM has finalized the transition of power from Punjabis to non-Punjabis,” Badal said in a statement issued on social media platform X.

Badal further alleged that the decision paves the way for a massive land acquisition drive by the AAP government, citing plans to acquire over 24,000 acres in Ludhiana alone.
“This is not urban planning — it’s organized loot,” he said, warning of what he called an “exploitative land grab” masked as development.
