Chandigarh, July 11, 2025: After openly criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his frequent foreign visits, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has now turned his guns towards Union Home Minister Amit Shah, referring to him as a “fugitive” and questioning his past legal history.
While responding to media queries regarding the legal notice issued by Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa to Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, Mann launched a scathing attack, saying:
“Sirsa should first explain his own relationship with gangsters. Who is sitting inside Sabarmati Jail? Who poses the biggest threat? These people were nurtured by you and have close ties with criminal networks.”
Escalating his criticism, Mann further remarked:“Our Home Minister was banished. He had to leave Gujarat. He was exiled from there. When an absconded person becomes the Home Minister, then what should we say?”
The Punjab CM’s statement refers to past allegations and controversies surrounding Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his tenure in Gujarat, though Shah was later acquitted of all charges.
Mann also emphasized that law and order in Punjab will be upheld strictly and promised decisive action against criminal elements:
“We will bring gangsters to justice. If anyone threatens the safety of Punjabis, there will be no leniency. Strict action will be taken as per the law.”
