Gram Panchayat by-elections in Faridkot: Nomination process from July 14 to 17; Voting on July 27
Faridkot, July 12, 2025: The Punjab State Election Commission has issued an official notification for conducting Gram Panchayat by-elections in Faridkot district to fill 1 vacant Sarpanch and 35 Panch positions left vacant after the general elections held on October 15, 2024. The information was shared by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Poonamdeep Kaur.
According to the notification, the nomination process will begin on July 14 (Monday) and continue until July 17 (Thursday) from 11 AM to 3 PM. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on July 18 (Friday), and the last date to withdraw nominations is July 19 (Saturday). Voting will be held on July 27 (Sunday) from 8 AM to 4 PM, and the election process will conclude by July 28 (Monday).
These elections will be held in various Panch wards of Gram Panchayats under Faridkot, Kotkapura, and Jaitu blocks, including villages like Behbal Kalan (Sarpanch seat), Kothe Chand Singh, Ajit Gill, Gulabgarh, Rorikapura, and many others.
The candidates have been advised to contact their respective Block Development and Panchayat Offices for submission of nomination papers and further details.
