Major drug smuggling racket busted in Ferozepur: 9.5 kg Heroin, drone, arms seized, 4 held
Ferozepur, July 17, 2025: Continuing its “War Against Drugs” campaign, Ferozepur Police have achieved major success by busting four cases under the NDPS Act and one under the Arms Act, arresting four accused and seizing a significant quantity of narcotics, arms, and smuggling equipment. The crackdown reflects the police’s commitment to tightening the noose around drug smugglers operating in border areas like Ferozepur.
As per official reports, the police confiscated 9 kg 593 grams of heroin, 2 kg of opium, 1 drone with 2 remotes, 3 mobile phones, 1 motorcycle, counterfeit currency and 1 illegal pistol with ammunition. Additionally, 1 digital scale used for drug weighing was also recovered.
According to SSP Bhupinder Singh, the police recovered 9 kg 593 grams of heroin, 2 kg of opium, 1 drone with 2 remotes, 3 mobile phones, a motorcycle, counterfeit currency, an illegal pistol with ammunition, and a digital scale used for weighing drugs.
Breaking down the seizures, SSP said, in one case, 7.677 kg of heroin was recovered from Tendiwala Bhane Wala near the banks of the Sutlej, in a joint operation of the Police and BSF. On July 17, in PS Sadar Ferozepur, 1.407 kg of heroin, one drone with two remotes, were seized in another joint operation with BSF from Jaswinder Singh (21) at Fattewala alias Jalleke. On July 13, in PS Mamdot, 509 gm of heroin and a motorcycle used for smuggling were seized from Krishan Singh alias Lala (29) of Gandhu Kilcha and Varinder Singh (29) of Dulchi Ke. On July 16, at PS Talwandi Bhai, 2 kg of opium, 1 iPhone, and a Swift car were seized from Karan Singh Acchewala. On July 17, in PS Cantt Ferozepur under the Arms Act, one accused was arrested, Harsh (17), with a country-made pistol and magazine.
The SSP also revealed that Krishan Singh alias Lala is already facing charges under the NDPS Act in a previous case involving the recovery of 510 grams of heroin.
We have got some leads also during the investigation, and further inquiries are underway to expose the larger network behind these smuggling operations, he added.
