Jathedar Akal Takht asks CM Mann to embrace 'Sabat Soorat Sikh' form; Watch Video

Amritsar (Punjab), July 22, 2025: Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadhgaj of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has advised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to adopt the appearance of a Sabat Soorat Sikh—a Sikh who maintains unshorn hair and adheres to the traditional Sikh identity.
The Jathedar emphasized that only after embracing the full Sikh form should the Punjab government proceed with organizing the 350th martyrdom anniversary celebrations of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
He underscored the spiritual and cultural importance of authenticity and reverence when leading such significant religious commemorations.
