Chandigarh, September 29, 2025 – On the concluding day of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha session, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora launched a scathing attack on both the Modi government and the Congress party over the flood crisis.
Arora accused the Centre of being “anti-Punjab,” alleging that despite repeated letters from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Union government had failed to respond to the state’s demands and concerns.
He said desilting work is not permitted within five kilometers of the international border, a decision that rests with the Centre, yet no action has been taken.
Turning his guns on the Congress, Arora alleged that previous governments did little for flood management apart from indulging in scams, citing the irrigation scam as an example.
“In three years, we ensured drain cleaning and ground-level work, unlike the earlier governments that focused only on photo-ops,” he said.
Arora maintained that the AAP government had started flood-preparedness meetings as early as August 20, and its ministers and MLAs had personally visited flood-hit areas to monitor relief efforts.
