VWS students bring Gandhi’s values to life on 156th Birth Anniversary
Ferozepur, October 1, 2025: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 156th birth anniversary, Vivekananda World School, Ferozepur, organized a series of creative activities and presentations to highlight Gandhiji’s timeless values. Sharing details, the school’s Director, Dr. S.N. Rudra, said the program aimed at instilling Gandhi’s teachings among the students through experiential learning.
The tiny tots of the playgroup performed engaging role plays to convey messages of truth, non-violence, and simple living, high thinking. Their performance of Vande Mataram resonated across the campus. Students from Classes I to IV participated in a poster-making competition on themes such as Swachh Bharat, Truth and Non-Violence, and Gandhiji’s Dream, expressing their ideas through colors and creativity.
Students also enacted Gandhi’s famous principle—See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil—emphasizing the importance of positive thinking and conduct.
A special highlight of the program was a cleanliness drive conducted by the school’s NCC cadets, who cleaned the school premises and nearby streets, living Gandhiji’s message that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rudra stressed that Gandhi’s teachings must not remain confined to books but should reflect in students’ lives and behavior. He added that such events not only connect children with Indian culture and core values but also inspire them to become responsible citizens.
