Railway earns ₹1.80 crore revenue from 28,583 ticketless passengers during Sept’25
Ferozepur, 3 October 2025: The ticket checking team of the Ferozepur Rail Division has intensified its efforts to curb unauthorized travel by conducting continuous inspections across trains. During September 2025, a total of 28,583 passengers were found traveling without valid tickets or traveling irregularly. As a result, the division collected approximately ₹1.80 crore in fines.
This marks a 32% increase in revenue from ticket checking compared to the same period last year, reflecting the effectiveness of the campaign.
In addition to curbing ticketless travel, the division is also committed to maintaining cleanliness at railway stations. Regular anti-littering checks were conducted at major stations, leading to 556 passengers being fined over ₹96,000 under the Anti-Littering Act in September.
Divisional Rail Manager Sanjiv Kumar stated that the ticket checking campaign will continue across the division. The primary goal is to boost ticket sales and ensure passengers travel with valid tickets in the future.
Sr. DCM Paramdeep Singh Saini credited the success to the dedication and vigilance of the ticket checking staff. He emphasized that on-going awareness campaigns are being conducted to educate passengers about travel regulations and cleanliness norms.
