Cross-border Arms and Narcotic smuggling module busted, two arrested with 2.5 Heroin and arms

Chandigarh, October 5, 2025: In an intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence Amritsar busts a cross-border arms & narcotics smuggling module with links to Pakistan & apprehended two operatives Gurjant Singh & Gurvel Singh, both resident of #TarnTaran & recovered 2.5 kg Heroin & 5 sophisticated pistols alongwith magazines. This was disclosed by DGP Gaurav Yadav in a tweet.
He said that Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were acting upon the directions of Pakistan-based smuggler to smuggle the contraband from across the border. The recovered arms were meant to be supplied to gangsters & criminals to fuel unlawful activities in Punjab.
FIR registered at PS #SSOC, Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to expose the full nexus, including the backward and forward linkages of the network.
