BSF recovers crashed Chinese-Made drone near Indo-Pak border in Mamdot Sector
Ferozepur, October 30, 2025: The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a damaged DJI Mavic 3 Classic-01 drone near the International Border in Ferozepur district's Mamdot sector on October 29. The grey-colored drone, manufactured in China, was found crashed within the area of responsibility of the 155 Battalion, BSF, under the command of Sh. Pramod Kumar Naik, AC Coy Commander ‘E’ Company.
The seized drone (E/Ops/Seizure Memo/155/25/521) was missing its camera assembly and battery, with a weight of approximately 470 grams without these components. The battery assembly (40 grams) and dropping mechanism (330 grams) were detached, the left-side leg was broken, and the front right-side fan was disassembled.
Based on intelligence inputs under Sections 10, 11, and 12, of Aircraft Act, the BSF conducted a joint operation with local authorities and registered a case. The drone's serial number is 1581AF4R2C6.
Officials suspect the drone was deployed for cross-border smuggling or surveillance activities. An investigation is ongoing with Gehna Ram, ASI/IO, to trace its launch point and purpose, amid heightened vigilance along Punjab's border areas where such incidents are frequent.
