69th District Primary School Games conclude with grandeur; Four MLAs encourage young athletes
Ferozepur, November 1, 2025: The four-day 69th District Primary School Games concluded with great zeal and enthusiasm under the guidance of District Education Officer (Elementary) Sunita Rani and Deputy DEO (Elementary) Komal Arora, following the directions of the Punjab School Education Department.
The opening ceremony, held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, was inaugurated by Ferozepur City MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar. He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, sports activities are flourishing in the state, and players are being provided with better facilities to excel at national and international levels.
On the second day, the prize distribution ceremony was graced by Guruharsahai MLA Fauja Singh Sarari. In athletics, students from Block Satiewala performed exceptionally well. In badminton (boys), Ferozepur-1 bagged first position while Ferozepur-3 stood second; among girls, Ferozepur-3 secured the top spot, followed by Ghall Khurd. Players from Ferozepur-1 dominated in swimming events.
Competitions for Kabaddi (National and Circle Style), Kho-Kho, Handball, Football, Tug of War, and Karate were held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Moga Road. The events were inaugurated by Ferozepur Rural MLA Advocate Rajnish Dahiya, who emphasized that sports are an integral part of a student’s life and primary games serve as the nursery for future sports stars.
On the concluding day, Zira MLA Naresh Kataria attended as the chief guest and lauded the efforts of students and teachers, stating that sports inculcate team spirit, competitiveness, and the strength to accept both victory and defeat gracefully.
District Education Officer (Elementary) Sunita Rani and Deputy DEO Komal Arora congratulated all the participants and wished them success for the upcoming state-level competitions, encouraging them to continue their hard work to bring laurels to Ferozepur district.
BPEO Amritpal Singh Brar shared that in Kabaddi Circle, Ghall Khurd emerged champions; in Handball, Satiewala boys and Guruharsahai-1 girls won first positions; in Kabaddi National (girls) Ferozepur-1 triumphed; in Football, Ghall Khurd boys and Satiewala girls took the top spot. Kho-Kho titles were won by Jira (boys) and Mallanwala (girls).
With a total of 19 gold medals, Block Satiewala lifted the overall championship trophy. The event’s stage coordination was efficiently managed by Sukhwinder Singh Bhullar and Jagmeet Singh Chugga.
