Ferozepur secures fast, direct rail link to Delhi via Vande Bharat
Ferozepur, November 1, 2025: Ferozepur, the border district of Punjab, received a major boost as the central government has approved the Vande Bharat Express train between Ferozepur and New Delhi. Former Cabinet Minister and BJP National Executive Member Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this historic decision.
Rana Sodhi stated that on November 7, the Prime Minister will flag off four new Vande Bharat trains across the country, including the one from Ferozepur to Delhi. “This historic step will put Ferozepur on a new track of development and bring significant benefits to traders and the entire region,” he added.
The Railway Board has officially announced the train service, which will not only benefit Ferozepur but the entire Malwa region. With approvals from all three railway divisions, direct Vande Bharat connectivity from Ferozepur to Delhi has now become a reality.
The proposed schedule for the train is: Departure from Ferozepur at 7:55 AM, passing through Faridkot, Bathinda, Dhuri, Patiala, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Panipat, reaching Old Delhi at 2:35 PM., and return journey from Delhi at 4:00 PM, arriving in Ferozepur at 10:35 PM.
Rana Sodhi said the train service will boost trade, industry, education, and tourism in the region, fulfilling the long-standing demand of residents for direct rail connectivity.
