Sri Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), December 27, 2025:In a significant and symbolic moment, Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib and Damdami Taksal Chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa (Dhumma) were seen together during the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.
The occasion marked the annual Shaheedi Sabha commemorating the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzade of the Tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji—Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji—as well as the revered Mata Gujri Ji. Lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, offering deep reverence and respect to the martyrs.
Organised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) with the cooperation of Sikh organisations, religious bodies, and the sangat, the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan was conducted in accordance with age-old tradition. Following the recitation of Japji Sahib, the Nagar Kirtan commenced from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and concluded at Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib with the recitation of Kirtan Sohila, followed by Ardas.
During the Nagar Kirtan, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami; Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj; Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Tek Singh; Chief of Damdami Taksal, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa; Chief of Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal, Baba Balbir Singh (96th Karori); Chief of Tarna Dal Hariyan Velan, Baba Nihal Singh; and Chief of Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Samparda, Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, along with several other prominent personalities, participated and paid homage to the Sahibzade.
