Bomb Threat to Ferozepur Court, Judicial Complex Evacuated
Ferozepur, 8, January 2026: Panic gripped the Ferozepur judicial complex on Thursday morning after a bomb threat was received, prompting authorities to evacuate the premises as a precautionary measure.
According to sources, the threat was sent via email to the official email ID of the District and Sessions Judge. Following the alert, court proceedings were halted and the entire court complex, including parking areas and other vulnerable locations, was cleared to ensure public safety.
A heavy police deployment has been made at the site. Superintendent of Police (Detective) Manjeet Singh confirmed that around 150 police personnel have been engaged in a thorough search operation of the judicial complex. Bomb disposal squads and security agencies are also conducting checks to rule out any potential danger.
So far, officials have not disclosed details regarding the origin of the email or the identity of the sender. Authorities remain tight-lipped as investigations are underway.
No untoward incident has been reported till the filing of this report, but security has been heightened in and around the area as a precaution.
