Health Dept recognises healthcare workers for exceptional public service
Ferozepur, January 28, 2026: In a gesture of appreciation for outstanding dedication to public service, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajiv Parashar today honoured several doctors, health officials, and paramedical staff with appreciation letters at the Civil Surgeon’s office.
During the ceremony, Dr Parashar congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue their contributions toward public welfare with even greater zeal in the future.
Civil Surgeon revealed that he has been conducting regular field inspections over the past month to monitor and improve healthcare delivery across the district. The individuals recognised today were selected based on their exceptional performance during these inspections and recommendations from Program Officers.
"The state government is working tirelessly to provide high-quality healthcare services to the public," Dr Parashar stated. "Through constant monitoring of health centres, we are ensuring that patients face no hardships and receive the best possible treatment."
Dr Parashar laid special emphasis on the health of pregnant women and newborns. He issued strict instructions to ensure: Early identification of high-risk pregnancy cases, Constant medical supervision to ensure safe deliveries, and Reduction of the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) through specialised care.
He further urged the staff to promote institutional deliveries, stressing that maximising births in government hospitals is crucial for the safety of both mother and child.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by several senior medical officials, including Dr Gurmej Ram, District Medical Commissioner (DMC), Dr Mandeep Khangura, District Family Welfare Officer, Dr Harpreet and Dr Manmeet, School Health Incharges, Neha Bhandari, Deputy Mass Media Officer, Harish Kataria, District Programme Manager, Vikas Kalra, Personal Assistant.
