300+ disabled children issued Disability Certificates after screening under one roof; major relief for parents
Ferozepur, February 11, 2026: In a significant initiative aimed at easing the hardships of specially-abled children and their families, a two-day camp was organized on February 10 and 11 at Bhai Mardana Yaad Badgari Kirtan Hall, Virujpur, to issue disability certificates and UDID (Unique Disability ID) cards under one roof.
Sharing details, Shaili Kamboj, President of Sarbat Da Bhala Welfare Society, said the camp was conducted to facilitate the issuance of disability certificates and related documentation for eligible children and Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Deep Shikha Sharma, personally reviewed all the pre arrangements for the convenience of parents and disabled children.
The camp was organized by the Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur, in collaboration with the District Education Department. Teams of doctors from Civil Hospital Ferozepur and Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital were specially deputed for medical assessments and certification.
More than 300 specially-abled children attended the camp, and disability certificates were issued on the spot after medical examination. The initiative spared parents from running from office to office and facing prolonged procedural delays. Providing such essential services at a single venue proved to be a great relief and support for both disabled children and their families.
With these certificates, eligible children will now be able to avail benefits such as disability pension, welfare schemes, government facilities, job opportunities, and reservation benefits as per norms.
Prominent contributors to the camp included Chandar Mohan Handa, President of Radhe Radhe Welfare Society, Ferozepur; Deepak Gupta, President of Lions Club Border, Ferozepur; and representatives of Sarbat Da Bhala Welfare Society, including S. Bholochan Singh and Jatinder Pal.
District Special Educator Krishna Mohan Chaubey, Computer Operator Jatinder Singh, and all IET from across the district were present with their special children, ensuring proper assistance and coordinated support during the medical evaluation process.
