Haryana: Election schedule announced for two Rajya Sabha seats

Chandigarh, February 26, 2026: The Returning Officer for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana, Pankaj Agarwal, has announced that the terms of two sitting Rajya Sabha members — Kiran Choudhry and Ramchandra Jangra — will conclude on April 9, 2026.
Following the completion of their tenure, the schedule for elections to fill the two vacant seats has been officially notified.
According to the election programme, nominations for both seats can be filed until March 5, 2026. The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 6, while candidates may withdraw their nominations until March 9.
If necessary, polling will be conducted on March 16, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Committee Room of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Sector-1, Chandigarh.
The Returning Officer further informed that nomination papers can be submitted on working days from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to the Assistant Returning Officer, Gaurav Goyal, at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.
