HC takes suo moto notice of Ranjit Singh murder case, DGP told to submit report in two weeks

Chandigarh, March 5, 2026: Punjab and Haryana High Court today took suo moto notice of police encounter of Ranjit Singh of Gurdaspur and told DGP Punjab, who deposed through video conferencing, to submit report in the case in two weeks.
Meanwhile Sukhjinder Kaur mother of Ranjit Singh also filed a petition in High Court in which she had demanded second post mortem of the body and CBI enquiry of the ‘fake’ encounter. Case is listed for hearing tomorrow March 6, 2026.
