Japan, March 14, 2026: Amid growing global tensions, fresh security concerns emerged in East Asia on Saturday after North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile, prompting Japan to issue an emergency alert and activate its crisis management systems.
The alert was first shared by the Prime Minister’s Office of Japan on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), warning citizens and authorities about the missile launch. The message stated that a suspected ballistic missile had been fired by North Korea and that further updates would follow as authorities gathered more information.
Following the announcement, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi immediately ordered the activation of emergency response protocols.
