Ludhiana (Punjab), March 20, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp political attack on Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, using satire and a humorous anecdote to target his rival during a public address.
Narrating a fictional story, Mann spoke of a “bell of lies” placed with Dharmaraj, which rings whenever someone tells a lie on earth. “If someone lies in Germany or America, the bell rings once. But one afternoon, it kept ringing continuously,” Mann said, adding that when questioned, Dharmaraj replied, “Don’t worry, Sukhbir Badal is delivering a speech down there—it will go on for another 20 minutes.”
Taking a dig at Badal’s oft-repeated slogan “Saadi Vaari Aayegi” (our turn will come), Mann said such claims no longer resonate with the people. He also mocked a viral “dinosaur” remark associated with Badal, saying sarcastically that the opposition seemed to have found a new “creature” to “devour Punjab.”
Mann concluded by asserting that the time now belongs to the people of Punjab, not political families, adding that blind sloganeering by supporters without context reflects poorly on political discourse.
