Wheat procurement to begin in Punjab from April 1, 125 lakh metric tonne production expected

Chandigarh, March 27, 2026: Wheat procurement will being officially in Punjab from April 1, 2026. It is expected that this season 125 lakh metric of produce will come to mandis. Punjab is facing space crunch for storing of wheat and it has urged Union government to expedite movement of grains from the state as it need 25 lakh metric tonne of additional space in additional to already available 100 metric tonne space for the produce.
