New Delhi, April 1, 2026: Oracle Corporation has laid off an estimated 11,000 to 12,000 employees in India as part of a sweeping global restructuring, underscoring a broader shift in the technology industry towards artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud infrastructure.
The job cuts, which account for a significant portion of Oracle’s India workforce—estimated at around 30,000—are part of a wider global reduction that could impact up to 30,000 employees across markets.
The move reflects a growing trend among global tech firms to streamline traditional roles while ramping up investments in AI-driven technologies.
Oracle, like many of its peers, is channeling substantial resources into building AI capabilities and expanding its cloud computing infrastructure, even as it trims its workforce.
