Chandigarh, April 4, 2026: The ongoing political rift within Punjab’s Akali rebel camp intensified on Saturday as SAD rebel leader Manpreet Singh Ayali responded strongly to allegations levelled against him by senior leader Barjinder Singh “Makhan” Brar following his resignation.
In a sharp statement, Ayali asserted that “truth never hides and principles are never for sale,” adding that while making accusations in politics is easy, standing firmly with the truth is far more difficult.
Reiterating his stance, Ayali said that his actions are guided by the directives of Akal Takht Sahib and aimed at the welfare of the Panth and the upliftment of Punjab. “Our goal is not power or position, but to restore the dignity of our institutions,” he stated.

He acknowledged that walking the path of truth can sometimes lead to isolation but maintained that his resolve remains “as solid as a rock.” “We don’t care who stands with us—we will continue to stand for the interests of Panth and Punjab till the end,” he added.
Ayali’s remarks come in response to Brar’s recent resignation from the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punarsurjeet), where he alleged a larger conspiracy involving central agencies and the Aam Aadmi Party government to weaken the Akali Dal.
Brar had also accused Ayali of misleading him and remaining silent against the government due to alleged personal interests—claims that Ayali has now indirectly dismissed.
Without naming individuals directly, Ayali suggested that those speaking about reform and institutional dignity are often targeted politically. “When you talk about reform, those in power try to silence you with false allegations,” he said, adding that “the caravan of truth never stops.”
