Dr Baljit Kaur leads Free Eye Check-Up Camp, hundreds benefit
Faridkot, April 4, 2026: Punjab Cabinet Minister and renowned eye specialist Dr. Baljit Kaur organised a free eye check-up camp today at Bhagat Ravidas Dharamshala in Balbir Basti, Faridkot. The camp was conducted with the support of the Lions Club Sri Muktsar Sahib and witnessed a large turnout of patients who availed themselves of the medical services.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted the rising prevalence of eye-related diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, and vision impairment. She emphasised the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent serious complications.
During the camp, patients underwent detailed eye examinations, and free medicines and spectacles were distributed as per requirement. She further informed that patients needing surgery would be scheduled after necessary tests, and lenses would be provided free of cost wherever required.
The President of Lions Club Sri Muktsar Sahib stated that the camp was organised in memory of his father, continuing their annual tradition of community service.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government and Dr. Baljit Kaur for providing free treatment, stating that the initiative brought significant relief to them.
A team of doctors and staff from the Civil Hospital were also present during the camp.
