Breaking: Makhan Brar joins SAD, welcomed by Sukhbir Badal

Chandigarh, April 7, 2026: Senior leader Makhan Brar joined the Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday. He was warmly welcomed into the party fold by SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Two days ago, senior leader Barjinder Singh “Makhan” Brar resigned from all positions and relinquished his primary membership of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punarsurjit), delivering a significant blow to the party.
In a detailed resignation letter, Brar said he was stepping down with a “heavy heart,” citing serious concerns over the party’s direction and internal functioning.
